My Big Red Head

Here's an image of a great project I worked on as a development artist / director about a year ago now at Lupus Animation.
The story was written by BAFTA winning writing duo James Lamont and Jon Foster (The Amazing World of Gumball). We got to work with great artists such as Casamoke as character designer and concept & background artists Antoine Birot & James Gilleard.

Stay tuned for more!

Little Rejects - Smudge Hill 3

Another version of the control freak from earlier - perhaps a bit too simplistic for the silver screen, but I like her. She could clean my cupboard.

Little Rejects - Old Lady and the City

I was in China at the time, cycling to work every day in one of the busiest roads of Shanghai when I received this task. The old lady was more of a secondary character in this show.  After drawing super hip kids and teens for over a decade, she felt so refreshing I just couldn't stop.
In the script there was no mentioning of scooters and reckless driving, but for some reason I felt she's crazy/cool enough to drive like the people around me on Julu Lu.

Later on I though maybe she has a pesky little neighbor

and a good childhood friend to laugh, to quarrel, to gossip and fight ruffians.

Since i have too much I can't share, let's dig out the little rejects I like but never actually made it anywhere.

First contestant is an animated feature, let's call it Smudge Hill
